Our History
Founded in 1948 by John B. Davis, Sterling Food Service (originally known as Sterling Meat Company) started its humble beginnings as a retail butcher shop in downtown Phoenix. With over 74 years since being established, Sterling Food Service -a third generation business- now distributes 1,000 food items throughout Arizona.
What We Do
Since our inception, Sterling’s forte remains satisfying our customers’ “center of the plate” needs with USDA graded meats, poultry and seafood. Sterling is the oldest, continuously running, meat processing foodservice distributor in Arizona. We tout a highly skilled staff of portion control meat cutters and processors with decades of experience and knowledge. In addition to our focus on fresh meat processing, Sterling delivers a wide variety of other fresh and frozen food items with a fleet of well maintained, refrigerated trucks manned by a timely and courteous staff of drivers.

Our customers range from fine dining restaurants, to casual quick service establishments, hotels and resorts, professional sports franchises, the healthcare industry as well as retail grocers.
